Lt. Roger Englehardt
Lieutenant Roger Engelhardt is the Commander of the Force Investigation Unit for the St Louis Metropolitan Police Department.
He has held that position since the unit was formed and drafted the protocols and special orders for the SLMPD’s transition to the Force Investigative Model.
Roger is certified by the Force Science Institute and is a graduate of the Advanced Force Science Specialist Course. He has received training in shooting reconstruction, bloodstain analysis, death investigations, in-custody death investigations, and has attended many officer involved shooting seminars.
His prior assignments include patrol, criminal investigations, homicide supervisor, violent crime task force and mobile reserve. He is a founding member of Homicide Ministers and Community Alliance, an organization comprised of police, community organizers, multi-faith clergy and crime victim advocacy groups. He is a member and organizer for Back Stoppers, an organization which provides financial relief to the families of police officers and firefighters killed in the line of duty.
